“Harmony” is a freeform long leaf pine needle and raffia basket. The needles are natural, dyed, or fumed. With this stitch pattern, the outside and inside are identical. As always, I enjoyed the meditative quality as it became a bowl.

Artist Statement:
I have been creating pine needle and raffia baskets for 40 years. Beginning with a class in 1980, I continued to be fascinated by conceiving an idea and transferring that visual picture to a basket held in my hand. The rhythm of coiling and the challenge of combining design with structural integrity is a very satisfying journey.
