Ann McClellan
Camden Maine
Ann McClellan is a multimedia artist and educator. Her current body of work is called Memory Scrolls and Monuments. She is exploring wood, exotic hardwoods and veneers, coveted since her husband, a fine furniture craftsman and boatbuilder, passed away. Each wood has unique beauty and qualities; glow and sheen, softness, or density and weight. While painted hues representational, the bare wood has appeal for its raw and natural color. Ann has works in permanent collections in Japan and throughout the U.S.. Collaborative installation projects with partner Billy Ray Sims are at Virginia Tech’s Reynolds Plantation, and Alabama’s Huntsville Botanical Garden. Ann lives in midcoast Maine with her partner.
