Sharle Osborne began her adventures in basketry in 1995, taking several classes using local red cedar bark with her friend, Katherine Lewis. Making willow baskets over the years with Katherine, gave her the confidence to tackle willow projects on her own. Her first choice is to explore with red and yellow inner cedar bark, adding other collected barks and materials. Membership in the Northwest Basket Weavers Guild since 1996 has added greatly to her depth of basketry experience and opened many deep lifelong friendships. Living on the North Olympic Peninsula of Washington State for 37 years has allowed her to collect a rich supply of varied natural materials. Sharle’s artistic goals include dying with fewer basketry supplies.
