This piece was an experiment. A completed basket was taken apart with a saw and scissors. Then the pieces were stitched back together to make a
new basket form.
As a fiber artist, I use a wide variety of materials. I have a strong preference for natural fibers. I also enjoy personally gathering many of these materials, such as pine needles. To these natural materials, I add metal, beads and “found” objects to form unique pieces. The play among mind, hands and a host of materials continually stimulates the creative process and leads my work in new directions. I have an extensive exhibition history and am well represented in museums, galleries and private collections.
